Keeping your control joints watertight will prevent moisture from seeping under concrete pads and causing them to heave or sink. Poor joint control seals can often deteriorate the rebar and other metal structural undercarriage of a slab surface which eventually weakens and damages the concrete substrate.
The primary purpose of a concrete expansion joint is to allow the pads to expand and contract with temperature and humidity changes. And we all know enough about the climate conditions here in Texas to realize the importance of maintaining watertight control joints in our slabs!
At USA Floor-Tec we use a variety of self-leveling, polyurethane (one and two-component) sealant materials for application to parking decks, sidewalks, industrial flooring, backing mates, roadways and runways. Most materials are designed to color match and formulated with high performance elastomers.
